Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - 20 miles with another great crew this weekend. Chad, Adam W, Adam C, Emily, Devra, Bryan, and Jake. Ended up running a pretty fast pace, 6:58 overall but 6:50 for the last 16 miles. I felt okay today but definitely still fatigued from the workout on Thursday. Three weeks of the most mileage and hard workouts = I should feel this way (what Adam told me and made me feel better). It will make me stronger for those hard miles at the end of the race. Now it's just doing the taper right. Thank goodness it's taper time!

Group long runs are the best :)

PM - 4.5 mile bike ride with Jake. Talking marathon - we are totally obsessed.

Awesome 20 miles!

You're unreal, that would be the end of me, especially if I had done a half marathon tempo less than 2 days before.

Nice job out there Andrea! I think we need to advertise the pace as 6:45 - 7:15. It is hard to run slow with some many great people.

I was actually thinking when you posted the workout, "man I can keep that pace (the 7:15 pace) for at least 12 of the miles it would be fun to come out and meet you", then I read what you actually did. Nice run! You guys are incredible.

From Andrea on Sat, Oct 29, 2011 at 16:44:39 from 67.177.21.60

I really thought it would be 7:15 pace today! My body didn't want to go faster than that, but I didn't want to get left behind either :) I'm taking 3 days of recovery now instead of 2 because I'm exhausted.

Once this cycle is over, I would love to come down your way and do a Provo run. It's on the plan!

Wowie Zowie Andrea!!! Impressive. Taper time is always nice.

You are incredible, and so ready for this marathon!! Enjoy your taper time, you've earned it!

High mileage, slow recovery, and Big Workouts are the keys to success in the marathon. Handling this stuff on tired legs is what all top marathoners go through. You're going to rock!!

Erik you are right on the money! That's our mantra around here - run FAST on the workouts days, take pride in running super slow on the easy days... and MILES MAKE CHAMPIONS!!!

Andrea, Great run and great end to an awesome training cycle. Just keep your head in it and you will do awesome. I have tried to never say good luck, you won't need it. The training is there so now it is time to just have fun and enjoy the fruits of your labor...
