Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - 2 miles. My hamstring and glute are a bad achy today...I'm in a really frustrated mood. I don't know what I'm doing wrong to get over this injury. If it's not the hip, it's the hamstring, glutes, or abs. Just tired of dealing with it today.

PM - Weight training 30 minutes and pool running 30 minutes.

I think I understand. I honestly feel bad. I think about you all the time. Hope and pray it really heals up all the way. And the imbalances will re-balance. Anything is possible.

Hang in there Andrea. You've made real progress during the past several weeks. You'll come out on top. Soon this will all be a memory.

From Carina on Mon, Jan 28, 2013 at 09:13:58 from 204.15.86.83

You've been so positive, you are ok to have a frustrated day, I'm frustrated for you!! Wish I knew what you were doing wrong too, but you seem to be doing everything right. Keep your chin up, things will work out!!!

From Bam on Mon, Jan 28, 2013 at 09:17:28 from 89.126.28.24

Ditto. Rob, Brandon, you, and me should do a conference call: I suspect we're all plagued with the same thing. It's so frustrating. One minute you think it's ok and then the next you're kaput.

Chin up. First to find the remedy is the winner:)

From AngieB on Mon, Jan 28, 2013 at 09:26:25 from 159.212.71.199

I second Carina. You have been so positive and ok to have a frustrated day. Take it day by day:)

From Andrea on Mon, Jan 28, 2013 at 09:37:24 from 72.37.171.52

Thanks guys! I'm already feeling more positive from your comments. My co-workers should thank you :)

Bam - I think what I have is contagious. You should all probably stop following my blog...even Jake is showing signs of weakness.

From Rachelle on Mon, Jan 28, 2013 at 10:01:15 from 199.190.170.22

Hang in there Andrea! I definitely agree with what Carina said. You have been so positive through this all and it is okay to be frustrated. It really is not fair but you have been making a lot of progress the past few weeks. One step, one hour, one day at a time.

From runningafterbabies on Mon, Jan 28, 2013 at 11:23:21 from 71.195.219.247

Thank you for being REAL! You are always so positive, but remember it's ok (and actually healthy) to be really frustrated and PO-ed about this too. If you look back at your history you've had a couple set backs, but you've always been able to bounce back after listening to your body. Look at how far you have come since you started running regularly again. It's not where you'd like to be, but you just ran an awesome 5k off of hardly any training. I'm pretty sure this is your body telling you to rest a bit before pushing again.

From allie on Mon, Jan 28, 2013 at 13:36:59 from 97.117.83.221

^i totally agree. you were very smart about how you ran the 5k, but you did push your body and it probably just needs a little more time to bounce back.

hang tough. and feel free to fax me your favorite gelato flavors at any time.

I'm sorry :( You can come over and use my ice machine tonight. That is my way of saying I miss you...

From NatalieK on Mon, Jan 28, 2013 at 15:28:59 from 67.182.200.33

There's nothing I could say that hasn't already been said but I'm so sorry. I don't blame you for being frustrated. You've been so patient through this whole long ordeal. You deserve a day to be done with it.

Jake - are you even old enough to be a NKOTB groupie?

From Jake K on Mon, Jan 28, 2013 at 15:47:06 from 155.100.226.191

I am a fan of great music from all eras and any music video starring a Wahlberg, whether it be Donnie or Mark.

I was hoping youd say you were a hard core fan back in the 90s... Now I feel old!

From JulieC on Mon, Jan 28, 2013 at 17:45:37 from 168.103.184.97

One big positive you beat my 5k time from thanksgiving and you hadnt done any speedwork. I would say your in a good way considering tbe time u have had off. So....have u jad all your hormone levels checked? Thyroid? Adrenals? Just checking. Perhaps autoimmune? Read ultramind solution....about impprtance of nitition against oxidative stress and genetic predosposition if certain nutrients are lacking. With your injiry lingering this long i suspect an imbalance and your joints/ligaments are taking the hardship. This book tells u how to heal yoirself or what to ask drs to check for.
