Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - 2.4 miles on the treadmill, 8:20 pace. Keeping it to 20 minutes of running for a while but I felt pretty good. Not as good as skiing would be today, but hopefully I'll be able to ski again before all the powder days are gone.

PM - 2.2 miles near home with Jake.

Great news lately Andrea. I'm sending out positive thoughts in your direction.

Well since the no running plan was an epic failure, I'm throwing caution to the wind and just running. It actually seems to be helping.

I hat to recommend that but it has worked for me in the past. A couple years ago I had a bad achilles, stopped running for a couple months and it wouldn't get any better. Started running again and it got better.

Yeah I wouldn't recommend it until after a couple months of resting. I'm sure the rest helped but the injury has had plently of time and now it's time to start working again.

Yay for more running! I do really think the cross-country skiing would be fine :) I saw lots of stoked dogs in Millcreek this morning and they reminded me of you!

You know, whatever muscle imbalances might be there, might just correct themselves with a little running. That's what I found with some tendonitis I had a couple years ago; the body finds a way to keep going. Some compensation happens and you heal. Hope that it the case here.

Just another testimonial to add to this thread. I had PF for 15 months, never stopped running - and it just went away on it's own.

I have a friend that suffered from it at the same time that took time off and hers came back right after she stopped xtraining.

I'm sure there are many injuries (probably most) that benefit from rest, but if it is not getting better after weeks/months of rest - I would start running again too.

I agree. I've been really concerned about this injury because it can cause major pelvic instability. But maybe it just needs a little push to start healing, who knows.
