For school we have to give at least 30 people a survey on a topic of our choice. I chose to ask questions on what brand of running shoes are the most durable. I decided to post the survey to hopefully get a few peoples answers. If you'd like to fill out the survey, you can either copy and paste the survey or just answer the questions in order. Thanks for helping! Here is the survey:
1. Height: 2. Weight: 3. What gender are your running shoes made for? 4. What brand of running shoes do you use? 5. How often do you run in your running shoes? 6. Do you use your shoes only for running, if no what else do you use them for? 7. How many miles do you put on each pair of shoes? 8. Do you run on your heels, toes, or flat-footed? 9. Are you a neutral runner, or do you pronate/supinate? 10. Do you wear orthotics or another type of insert, if yes what kind? 11. How many different brands of shoes have you used, please list. 12. Does the cost of the shoe affect what brand you buy? 13. Do you alternate shoes? 14. What is the name/brand of the shoe you are currently using? 15. Is there anything you don't like about your shoes?

1. 5' 8"" 2. 137 3. Male 4. Asics, Adidas 5. 1-2 times a day 6. Running only 7. 300-500 miles 8. Mostly flat footed, sometimes heel 9. Pronate 10. No orthotic or insert, but I do usually double up insoles. 11. Asics, Adidas, Brooks, Nike, Mizuno 12. Usually 13. Yes 14. Asics Landreth 3 15. I hear they changed things with the Landreth 4. This really bugs me when shoes companies mess up a good shoe.

jtshad- jeez, do you own stock in Saucony or something?
1. 5'10" 2. 147 lbs 3. Male 4. New Balance, Saucony, Mizuno, Nike, Brooks 5. Run daily, though certain pairs may not get used for weeks at a time 6. Running only 7. ~500 8. Heel/flat-footed 9. Slight pronate 10. No 11. New Balance, Saucony, Mizuno, Nike, Brooks, Reebok (a long time ago, and I have since repented), Adidas 12. Yup, though I mainly wait for the shoes I want to go on sale, then buy them 13. Yes 14. New Balance 767, New Balance 806, Mizuno Wave Ascent, Saucony Tangent, Nike Elite, Saucony Omni, Brooks Adrenaline 15. Not really. Left 806 shoe feels a bit strange. Tread on Elite wore out real fast. And I agree with Tom and Cal that I wish shoe companies wouldn't redesign shoes every year. I tend to stockpile when I find one I like for this reason.

1. 5-10 2. 145 lb 3. Male 4. Nike, Adidas currently (I think) 5. 6 days a week 6. I use my regular trainers as walking shoes as well. I wear them on every occasion when formal dress code is not required if they are not wet from running. If they are, I wear the other pair. 7. Till the holes in the soles are big enough for rocks to start getting into the shoe. This usually happens at around 3000 miles, but I've had a shoe that made it to around 5600. I remember being upset about having to change it too. I said to myself, this is a good American shoe, I just bought it less than 3 years ago, and am now having to replace it! 8. Depends on the speed. Heel at slower speeds, mid-foot at faster speeds. 9. Pronate (I think). 10. No. 11. Not sure. Probably 10. 12. Yes. I come to the store and get the cheapest shoe that feels good. 13. Sometimes. 14. Nike and Adidas (I think) 15. I do not like running in my dress shoes. Since coming to US I have never had a running shoe I did not like.

1. 5'10" 2. 146 3. M 4. puma, nike, brooks 5. every 2-3 days 6. only for running. I feel weird wearing them for other things. 7. don't keep track. When they get too old I usually know. 8. mid-foot to toe 9. pretty neutral 10. no 11. adidas, puma, fila, asics, saucony, mizuno, nike, brooks, and diadora (by far one of my favorite shoes a few years ago). 12. yes. I look for any sale possible on last year's models that might fit me well. I usually can't spend more than $60 for one pair, and try to get as close to $100 if I'm buying two pairs. 13. yes. short runs in old shoes, longer runs in the new ones. always with a day of rest for each shoe. 14. Nike Zoom Skylon, Brooks Ghost (wear test shoe), Brooks Burn, and Puma Complete Phasis 15. when they try to make them so durable that the shoe is almost a trail shoe (and just as heavy). thicker, harder heels bother me too.
