I want to make sure this gets noticed. Jeff is a low-profile guy and has mastered an art of falling through the cracks even when he runs great times.
30:13, 12th place in a field with 5 Africans, several top national and collegiate runners, and the fastest high school runners in the West. To illustrate the competitive nature of that race - Seth Pilkington who finished 12th in the national track championship in the 10,000 meters was 5th with 29:07. NCAA steeplechase champion Kyle Perry was 7th with 29:20. The locally "unbeatable" Teren Jameson was 8th with 29:25. Kenneth Kiptoo ran 28:53 to go home with nothing because he was 4th. The winning time was 27:46.
The previous fastest time run by a blogger on that course was 30:27 by Paul Petersen in 2007 during his preparation for a 2:18:09 marathon in St. George that got him Standard A and a trip to the Trials.
