So after the big Olympic bust or non bust depending on how you personally view his race. What's next for Ryan Hall? Boston 2009! Running times did a little question ask and answer thing by him talking about the upcoming historic race. He says he's pumped for Boston and thinks he has a chance to win. He still thinks of himself as an underdog but says "yes there is a chance" and so do I. He also said that as long as he's healthy he will do one big marathon in the fall and spring of each year until he wins one. So if not this year then maybe next? I'd love to see an American win Boston (the most historic marathon in the world and anyone that is a true runner has ran or plan to run). It's been fun to see Robert or whatever his name is win the last three years but lets see if Hall has his MOJO back in April.

Also there is a picture of the race starting  about 1/4 mile into things from last year. I made out a fastrunning singlet on the left hand side. Drum roll.... Congrats Walter for making some big time color print. It's not in the same piece about Hall but later in the issue.

Personally, I think Hall has a great chance to win this year.  All his training is at altitude, he has said his runs are much better than they were gearing up to th Olympics and that he put too much emphasis on quantity rather than quality of runs leading up to the Olympics.  I would not be surprised at all if he wins it this year.  Will have to see.  They just better be televising it, or at the very least webcasting it live!

i agree, i think hall can pull it off. but i think it will be a close race...very exciting right to the end!
my prediction:
2:07:25...assuming good conditions (no crazy boston weather)

now when is deena kastor going to get back in the marathon scene?

I'm rooting for Ryan Hall and Kara Goucher in an American sweep this year.

She did her first race recently but she hasn't stated when her next marathon will be.  I am guessing it depends on how her training goes.  I have enjoyed her website.  It is www.deenakastor.com (go figure).

Anyone know if there will be a live webcast of Boston? It would be fun to watch, to see how Hall does.

You mean you wouldn't want it to see how I do? LOL.

i was told that a media car will be in front AND behind him for the entire race, so we should see quite a bit of him. they will update us on hall every now and then, but they really want to focus on jeff this year.

They actually just contacted me to ask if it was ok if they cover me. I told them that as long as they didn't slow me down I felt it would be good for the sport to cover a superstar and an average runner ... I wonder if Ryan is ok with average runner status?
