Whatever happened to Daniel Komen?

I was reading a discussion board on a different website, and this was a topic.  This is what the curious runner said:

"Daniel Komen is the world record holder of the:

3000m - 7:20
2 miles - 7:58
3200 - 7:55
and was the holder of 5000, not too long ago

and all this when he was at the beginning of his career, and then he disapeared. Recently I heard that he was a pacer for one of the american marathons and that he had lost all his money after mismanaging it once he became famous.

If anyone has any news on the guy please post (and make sure its not Daniel Kipchirchir Komen, who is of no relation)."
