If the weather predictions hold, Boston runners could be looking at up to 20mph winds from the west (tailwind). I hate to get my hopes up, yet things are looking good for a fast day.

Paul is at 1:37:33 at the 30k mark. Extrapolating even mile splits that would put him finishing at 2:16 (obviously there will be some dropoff). Also of interest, Nan Kennard is at 1:48:19 at 30k (2:31 at even pace).

Wow. I was blown away when I pulled up the Boston Marathon page and Paul's name was right there on the front as the third American. And what a way to bury that OTQ time! Congrats to everyone who ran it!

Congrats to all those that ran Boston. I just wanted to point out a few amazing points. Paul had an incredibly consistent pace throughout. His 5k's ranged from 16:11 to 16:30, even on the hills. It is rare to see that at Boston. I have to admit that I was doubting Paul could OTQ at Boston, but I was floored to see his time and 3rd American. He is more machine than man I think. Also, the winner, Mutai, had a negative split the second half running 1:01:58 then 1:01:04! Two of his 5k splits late in the race on the hills were 14:11 and 14:13. So that's like 4:42 pace overall and 4:33 pace on those 5k's. I'm still shaking my head in disbelief.

Yeah that was a freaking crazy race. Hall even ran like an animal. And the girls finish was awesome too. Fun day to be a runner and running fan. Way to go Paul. We're not worthy to be on the same blog as you.
