So, I went to high school with a guy named Nurani Sheikh who was a very good XC runner. He only competed two years because he came from Etheopia and later went to NAU then Louisville. He went to Highland High School in SLC, UT and I think may have moved back to the Salt Lake area. I would be very surprised if he wasn't running anymore, so if any of you are in the Salt Lake area and know him or of him would you please let me know. Thanks.

I remember him - Footlocker finalist. One of the best high school runners in state history.

He did follow Mann to Louisville but was plagued with depression. Really a sad story. Haunted by visions/nightmares of his war-torn homeland of Somalia, making it almost impossible to study and sleep - let alone train and compete. I believe he saw some pretty tragic things as a child there and just couldn't cope. Medication wasn't working to solve the problem. Very, very sad. He was quite impressive as a freshman at NAU.
