Utah Runs on the 4th of July or the weekend after

My family and I are making the annual trip to Mecca for a reunion and I was wondering if there were any recommended races on the 4th or the 11th of July. We will be at Bear Lake for the 4th and SLC for the 11th. I can travel anywhere but if there was something close to the Logan area that would be awesome.

Yup, BSF is a great one. 15k, most on the TOU marathon course. Pretty cheap, somewhat competitive (though I expect you would win), well run. The TOU people put it on. It's in Hyrum.

Two votes for BSF. I was hoping for something a bit shorter given I will be just two weeks removed from Grandma's Marathon but if nothing else, it could be a good training run. I say that now but I'm yet to run in a race and "only" treat it as a training run.

It's a downhill race- 550 ft drop, with the only hill at 6.5 miles, so that would make it easier to go fast while not working as hard. Assuming you have any quads left after your marathon.
There are several of us in Logan who may be doing a brutal trail race on June 27 (28 miles, 7200 ft climbing, 7200 ft drop), so we would be going easy with you.

Sean:
What I do for all of the non-marathon races is just come untapered. This naturally turns them into a training run. Plus, more likely than not, you will be running alone.

Sean - I plan on running the Blacksmith Fork 15K as well. Perhaps I will be in better shape by then and can attempt to avenge my (soon to be) defeat in Indianapolis.
BTW - the downhill is not too brutal, not as steep as St. George.

Ooh, I might actually stay in town over the 4th and pay good money just to see this battle of titans! Can you say World Record?!?
