Personal:

I've been running since high school (mid-1990s) and do pretty well when I'm focused on a goal. My main problem  is running consistently when I'm NOT training for something specific. I'm an attorney, and I've been married to my husband, also a runner, for 5 1/2 years. We live in Phoenix, Arizona.  We had a beautiful baby girl, Caroline, in August 2009.

Tonight I ran with my husband-fun!  We both left the watches at home, which was nice.  We did 5 pickups during the run.  They were supposed to be 30-60 seconds each, but, with no watch, we just winged it.  It was a nice, easy, no-pressure run.

I'm starting to get ready for my friend's family's arrival from Seattle.  She is bringing her sweet little girl and her good-sport husband.  Both of our husbands are good sports, because we just talk nonstop when we are together and are oblivious to everything else.  Her husband and daughter will be our cheering section!

How fun to be able to run with your hubby. Good job getting out and having a good run today. Sounds like you are going to have a wonderful weekend with your friend!

I am jealous you got to run with your hubby and it sounds like you had a great run. Have fun with your friend - Is she running with you?

Jody, yes, my friend is running, although I don't know if it will be with me! It will be her first marathon (and my 4th), but she is superfast! Her goal is to break 4 hours, but she has been doing her long runs at 8:30 pace. I think I'm more excited to see how she will do than I am about myself! My husband is running the race as well, and he is going to do great.

You just take those "Cat calls" anyway you want to because I'm sure that you are HOT STUFF... I for one have seen the mirror with the headband/beeny, gloves, tights and I laugh out loud!!! You are too funny!!!

Shauna good luck!!!! Yes, it looks like I will have to forego the Friday run with you, but I am so excited for you! Don't keep us waiting too long with that race report!

That is so cool that you are running this with your hubby! What a bonding experience. That is something I'd love to try at some point--a marathon with James.

Good luck on Sunday...you will do great. Probably not going to be able to make a group run Saturday, sorry, but I wish you and your crew success. Can't wait to read your blog after the race!

Good Luck! I am so excited for you. I'll be thinking about you Sunday!
