Personal:

I've been running since high school (mid-1990s) and do pretty well when I'm focused on a goal. My main problem  is running consistently when I'm NOT training for something specific. I'm an attorney, and I've been married to my husband, also a runner, for 5 1/2 years. We live in Phoenix, Arizona.  We had a beautiful baby girl, Caroline, in August 2009.

Today's run was OK.  I have struggled this week, because work has been so crazy.  In fact, it took over 4 miles this morning to get work thoughts out of my head!  I didn't go to Texas.  I found out I wasn't going as I was on my way to the airport.

Total time was 1:13:47 (I think).  My average pace was 9:47.  Mile 1 was about 10:00, and I gradually picked up the pace every mile to end at 9:24.  I didn't do that on purpose.  Well, maybe I did a little bit, because I wanted to get home and not be late for work.  But I felt pretty good, for the most part.

It was overcast, so the weather was pretty nice.  I hope it's overcast tomorrow morning too!

PM-goals for August:

I have had a few less than stellar weeks of running.  This month is crucial for St. George training.  My goal is to miss no more than one day of running, hit 50 miles per week a few times, and NO weeks less than 40 miles!  Oh yeah, and lose more weight.  :-)

You've been getting in great mileage this week despite the stress and crazy hours at work. I usually don't take more than a 10 minute break for lunch but I can't imagine skipping it altogether like you did Wednesday. Try not to make a habit of skipping the Thursday run :)

Great running on a crazy week! I'm always also hoping it's overcast here... as you can imagine, I'm not very popular among my sunbathing friends :)

You haven't mentioned anything about your ball of foot pain; I take it it's better?

10 minutes for lunch? No wonder you stay so skinny! I guess all that running might have something to do with it too. :-) I still ate, mind you, but it was just a banana and Luna bar during a meeting.

Thanks for keeping me accountable. :-) I guarantee you, I would have run A LOT fewer miles this week if it weren't for the blog!

Running is salvation to the work weary soul. Great pace... really. Negative splits are my favorite way to run.
