Personal:

I've been running since high school (mid-1990s) and do pretty well when I'm focused on a goal. My main problem  is running consistently when I'm NOT training for something specific. I'm an attorney, and I've been married to my husband, also a runner, for 5 1/2 years. We live in Phoenix, Arizona.  We had a beautiful baby girl, Caroline, in August 2009.

The weather was surprisingly nice this morning, considering it's supposed to be over 110 today.  It's starting to get more humid, though-monsoon season is officially here!

I ran 5 easy miles with no Garmin.  I felt sluggish the most of the way, probably a combination of the heat and the 400s yesterday.  My right hamstring and calf are also still pretty sore.  I feel good, though: this is a true test of my consistency, and so far...I'm being consistent!   One day at a time, right?

PM: resistance training and anti-sitting stretches

Ug, how can it be monsoon already? It sure makes it feel a lot hotter!

Great job on your 400s yesterday! Geez, it was so hot. I would be very surprised if you were NOT sluggish today after running like that yesterday.

And good job getting in all 5 today!

I know I asked you this before, but I forgot what you said... are you definitely doing PF Chang's this year (well, 2009)?

I've pretty much made up my mind to do that one too.

How about you Lybi? You live in Phoenix as well, right?

From Shauna on Wed, Jun 18, 2008 at 17:22:36

Lybi, yes, the treadmills might have to become our best friends this summer.

Lauren, yes, I am 90% sure I am doing PF Chang's again in 2009. It will be my attempted BQ. Have you decided on a goal yet? I know it's still far away. Also, I think MichelleL and Josse are coming down for it. We can have our own FRB party! It will be great to meet you!
