Personal:

I've been running since high school (mid-1990s) and do pretty well when I'm focused on a goal. My main problem  is running consistently when I'm NOT training for something specific. I'm an attorney, and I've been married to my husband, also a runner, for 5 1/2 years. We live in Phoenix, Arizona.  We had a beautiful baby girl, Caroline, in August 2009.

I don't know what has gotten into me, but I am really enjoying this run/bike thing.  Tonight I decided to bike first.  I took an out and back course that was slightly uphill the whole way back but still recorded negative splits.

When I started running, my legs felt like lead.  I have never done a triathlon, so this was almost an entirely new feeling.  Imagine my surprise when I looked down and saw I was running under 9:00 pace!  I ran the first mile in 9:09 and then slowed down a bit.  Total time was 33:38, average 9:25 pace.  This is even more surprising given my supreme laziness over the last month or so!

I think it's safe to say I'm back to regular workouts (although I will not be able to work out every night this week).  My clothes are getting too tight, and I REALLY don't want to go up a size.  I've been at or below my current size for 4 years, and I'm NOT going back up.  I even signed up for St. George today!

Way to go Shauna! I am excited you'll be able to hang out with everyone in St. George. It always sounds like a party to me. Maybe one day I'll join the party. I am so excited for you. And I am glad you are enjoying biking.

You signed up for St. George--WOW! I'm so glad things are going well for you again!

Cool about the triathlon possibility, too!

SWEET! I hope you get in SGM so we can meet. Now Lybi just has to sign up (she's gonna get me for that, aren't you Lybi?) Anyway- way to make a strong workout comeback. Good to bring in the bike to mix things up and keep them interesting!
