Personal:

I've been running since high school (mid-1990s) and do pretty well when I'm focused on a goal. My main problem  is running consistently when I'm NOT training for something specific. I'm an attorney, and I've been married to my husband, also a runner, for 5 1/2 years. We live in Phoenix, Arizona.  We had a beautiful baby girl, Caroline, in August 2009.

A blah run.  I felt fine for the first 5 miles or so and then I really had to slow down.  I was really struggling by the end.  My legs felt really tired, like I had run a tempo run last night instead of two nights ago.  This stress is really taking a toll.  I think I am going to post some questions about it on the message board.

We got some SERIOUS rain last night, so there were puddles and fallen tree branches everywhere.  It was an extra workout to dodge everything!  It was pleasant out, though: probably in the mid-70s or so.

I chopped my hair off the other day (about 8-9 inches).  It's too short to pull back, and my hat is already packed, so I just tucked it behind my ears and went.  Because of the humidity, I looked like a giant frizz ball when I got home!  It was hilarious!  What do you short-haired women do with your hair when you don't have a hat?

Our flight leaves this afternoon.  I am SOOOO ready for a vacation!

Congrats on hitting your lowest weight in 2 years! That is awesome. I don't envy you the challenge of trying to stay there over a vacation, though! Good luck! Where are you going? Someplace cooler, I hope. Have a great time.

Short hair works well with a headband, I think. Wow, you have to get a picture of you on here. Do you have a Mac? If it is n't a Mac, it is pretty simple to put a picture in the body of your text. Post the picture you want to use online somewhere like Shutterfly, then right click on it and copy the image's location. Then come back to the blog as if you were writing an entry. Click on the button at the top that looks like a pyramid with a little circle above it. Paste the image location in the "url" line and hit enter. You can tell I really want to see your haircut!

Great job on your run!

One word- Bobbypins! Is that supposed to be one word? Ok how about hairspray? IS that two words too? I have got to sleep. I am leaving some very strange comments today! But hey, I am cracking myself up :)

Have a GREAT vacation! sorry the run wasn't too great, but it sounded like an adventure!

I have over the years had my hair too short for a pony tail, but too long to have it free. I use bobby pins and little barrettes, but they seem to bounce. I like Lybi's idea, especially a fatter cloth headband.

I have to agree with Marion. BOBBYPINS and lots of them. I use 10-12!I pull what i can into a pony and then bobbypin like crazy. I also use a skinny headband to keep everything back in case i get some flyaways. When its just too short to even pull back (last summer) I just used headbands and that worked really well.

I am a slave to the Pony tail. That said I chop my hair regularly and then grow it back to pony tail length. I use bobby pins and I just recently discovered the skinny elastic headband thingy and love it! When my hair was shorter, I would just pin my sides back out of the way, but a skinny headband thing would work too. Have a great vacation!
