Back to the Utah heat and busy schedule. Ran at Alexanders cross-country practice. Hope to eventually do a longer race. Sometimes I get the impression that youre not a real runner until you do the 1/2 or full marathon; but I'll wait until Im ready. Ive given in and ordered a GPS forerunner - Im told this is guaranteed to take several minutes off my running time and I will now look like a real runner (or maybe it will just tell me Im running shorter distances and at slower speeds than I think I am running)

You will love the GPS. Real runner, you are the only judge of that. Your committment to longer races, more running and GPS certainly say you are ready mentally to kick it up a couple of notches.

Hopefully GPS will get here next week - I probably should have ordered one that has the option of giving small electrical shocks to get me moving.

Yeah, youre right a "real runner" is in the eye of the beholder. I partly say that to just push myself to eventually do them I hope. Everybody has different abilities and desires. Seems like alot of the bloggers really like the longer races but they have been running and training much longer
