So I went out to my car to grab a camera this morning and a girl jogging the neigborhood came up behind me and scared the living daylights out of me. I was a little jealous that a 12 year-old girl was running faster than I had in 2+ years so I got motivated to update my page. I added a picture and saved it, but then my name popped up in recent posts even though I hadn't done anything yet. So then I had to go do a run before anyone noticed.

Last time I tried to start running again I went and did like 8 miles cold on 7's. Obviously that was a pretty bad idea, so I'm trying to learn from my mistakes 😅 Today was just 2 miles really painfully slow. I made myself stop and stretch a few times to help keep my knee from hurting. It might be a minute before I can handle any real runs but you gotta start somewhere I guess?

I had some knee pain yesterday despite trying to take it ridiculously slow, so I have now down-graded myself to fast walking. I tried to keep it fast enough that I could work my hip-flexers and other supporting muscles without screwing anything else up. Hopefully that helps. I'm planning on scheduling an appointment with a specialist to find out if there is actually something going on or I I'm just a wimp 😅

Short hike up to an abandonded mill. My knee felt a lot better after just walking on Sunday. I might try that for another few day to build strength and avoid hurting it again.

I think I owe speed-walkers an apology... I guess its harder than it looks. Just 30 minutes walking again today. Things are starting to feel better. I pushed to pace as fast as I could without actually running, its a surprisingly good workout. I think I'll stick to running though 🙃

I tried jogging on and off and made sure to do extra warmup and cool down. My knee still started to hurt anytime I started running so I guess I'll have to keep it slow for a while until I get it checked out :/

Its been about a week of taking things really slow, so I decided to test my self a little. I did a little warmup and then about 1.5 miles medium pace to see how everything was feeling. If I'm feeling good later I might try and add on some more tonight.

I felt much better than I expected after yesterday, so I did a really slow warmup and then an 800 fast. My knees are feeling better, I haven't been having any problems lately, so I'm planning on slow increasing mileage.

I felt pretty sore this morning so I just did 30 minutes really easy to loosen everything up. I'm

trying to be extra careful not to push myself too hard. Not much fun, but if it keeps me from

getting hurt I think its worth it.

I jogged for as long as I could today before my knee stated acting up. After walking for a few minutes I was able to go another good 10 minutes or so. Using the treadmill has been really nice for getting started again. I feel like I have under-utilized it in the past. I tend to push myself a lot harder, sometimes too hard, when running outside; so even though its boring, the treadmill has been really handy for keeping it slow.

I'm feeling much better and able to run a little bit longer. I still hit a point every day about 25 minutes in where my right knee starts to hurt, which is why I haven't been able to build up much distance. I'm hoping over the next week or so I'll be able to go longer and longer without issues.

It seems like I'm able to go a few more minutes each day without hurting anything. I've also been able to turn up the pace a little bit to cram a little extra distance in.

Today was probably a little longer than I should've gone. My knee was definitely bugging me towards the end, but it was fun to see I can go a little bit further now.

My ankle has been hurting the last few days and doesn't seem to be improving on my regular schedule. My plan is to take this week slower, take Tuesday off, keep it real slow Wednesday, and then maybe Thursday off depending on how it feels. I hate to kill the momentem I've been building, but I'd rather iron out a problem now before it becomes a bigger issue.

Its been a pretty hectic week. I took Tuesday off and did a quick jog Wednesday to see how things were feeling. My ankle was still a little sore, but after taking it easy the last few days everything seems to be feeling pretty good. Hopefully now I can go a few weeks now without my body falling apart :)
