Just a six mile run on over the top of foremaster and then a mile of barefoot striders after... It hurt but that seems to be a reaccuring theme this week for EVERYONE! ha

Kind of a funky run cause I was sort of answering Austin to homecoming but I got all the miles in! :D

Ha what an interesting little thing coach set up here! ha jk but this race was fun! :D It hurt like crazy cause my legs were sore and I sort of beat myself up mentally the first lap around so my time was not amazing but I cleared my head and just finished and I am excited to think that if this was a slow race then what are the possibilities at region!! :) The watermelon bust after was fun!

AWESOME run today!  The weather was nice cause it was so early, and the legs weren't fresh but they were better than yesterday. Warm up to Zions was a little tough for some reason but once I got to Zion i just got in the zone and went for it! The run down the dogpound road was so fun! There was mud everywhere and my legs are covered! I pushed it hard and stayed just barely behind Sierra the whole run.

 I had to run this morning run at home. :( I just ran my normal three around coral canyon. . . There isn't much else I can do. My legs were stiff but it was a good run, running with the team is so much better though!!!

PM: 5 out to green springs today! The run out is so long but coming back we flew! I really wish we could run at 11 every day its so much nicer out!!

-I'm trying to get myself mentally prepared for tommorows workout but the best thing so far is to just not think about it!! Oh goodness but it will feel great to get it done!

ARGHHHH I NEED TO GET TO THE FREAKING SCHOOOOL SOME HOW IN THE MORNINGS! It was slow AGAIN and I think I get way to side tracked when I run on my own and I find myself running way slow and needing to remind myself to pick it up! Oh well I got it done thats all that matters!

Holy heck!!! I had butterflies all freaking day because of this workout! The nerves were almost worse than doing the workout! Ha just kidding that workout was murder! And I got so distracted during the day from pshycing myself out that i forgot to drink that much water and so I really suffered during this run. I almost passed out after the second 800 but I didn't want to go home and say I didnt finish the workout so even though it was slow I finished it up! Hardest workout of the year OVER and I am soo ready to race!!!! (not physically right now but mentally yes! ha)

This was fun!! ha I really didn't want to run an eight by my self so I recruited a girl from my ward to run with! It was fun the first probably 2.5 miles cause my legs were DEAD from that workout yesterday so going slow with her was no problem. but after that she started dying and I had to like jump in place to try and stay back with her. But she finished 5.5 and I am sooo proud of her she didn't stop once. After I dropped her off I looped around for another three. I took the last three kind of hard to make up for the earlier pace but I got the miles in and thats all that matters! :D

Thats one more week i survived of XC! YAY!!

PM- Dogpound AT. Nice solid run today. It was hard to keep going today but I just made myself do it! It was good except I had to pee again! Its always on dogpound ughh!! And i was so mad that the road was no muddy! That was the most fun part!!!!

PM: 5 bank/ mall run with Sierra and Micci caught us coming down mall drive. That was awesome cause us three really need to push together and go strong! We found out today that Rachel isn't coming back so everyone is going to be stepping up big to get us to that region title but its not impossible! We've got the heart thats all that matters!

RACEEE! Ahhh I am just going to ignore the times from now on cause they really never reflect how I feel a race goes! But this was an awesome race! I stayed up there with Kareena and pushed it hard! Legs were sore but its that time of season! Other than I went to wrong way at the end it was a good race and I felt pretty strong. Loved the finish. Next race goal is to get that dang snow canyon three!!!!!!

I am slipping though and I dont know what to do! Next weeks goal is to stay up with sierra in race and practice.. Sierra and Micci pushed me pretty good in this one. We all have our strong points but we try and stick together! We need to see this at races though!

Ha wow! That was the stupidest thing I could have done.

Marathon volunteer and then babysitting today so I didn't get to start my run until 7:30ish.. So when i started all I thought about was getting my miles in!! So I took off pretty fast, I went up on the highway and over around the back way down telegraph. But I had totally forgotten that telegraph isn't lit and there is a big desert out to the side, and I didn't have any light besides my cell phone, and every time a car drove by I could have sworn they were going to hit me and then they left me temporarily blinded for like 5 seconds. And then I saw those cop search lights in the sky like they were searching for some criminal on the loose so I started flying cause I really thought my life was over cause some mass murderer was on the loose and he was going to take me hostage! But I survived so now its funny! :) Good run though... I am excited for the race this week already!

PM: 800 repeats!!!

I didn't expect this work out so it was a little wierd running it on a monday!!

But they felt good and strong all up until between the fourth and fifth one I had to go to the bathroom so I hurried to the bathroom and hurried back so i didnt really get a break so my 5th one DROPPED! It was bad.. But I brought it back up on the 6th one. My legs are just soo dead I really hope this was the beginning of tappering! ha

AM: easy 3 It feels like every step could be my last! My legs KILL. 

PM: easy 5 with Sierra. I am starting to get so frustrated.. I've worked sooooo hard and I am worried I still won't reach my goals. It seems like every where around me natural runners just come out of no where and I still fight for every little bit and it's frustrating cause it makes me wonder if there was a point where I could have given it that one little bit more but I don't really think so, I just hope I can stay strong mentally for Snow Canyon tomorrow and then that combined with tapering will have me ready for region! I'm scared!

Awesome race!! PR by like a minute. And it felt strong! :) I was SO close to getting the Snow Canyon trio too!! I got 1 but the other two slipped at the very end. That was the bad part, who ever saw my finish. . . It was EMBERASSING I really had nothing left to give and I hit a wall!! Hopefully with fresh legs and saving a little bit more for my finish at region I wont have that happen again. But other than my finish it was an awesome race! :)

PM: Wow I am so tight from yesterdays race! I HATE the run OUT to green springs! But the way back makes up for it I guess! :) I tried going with Sierra but she was flying and my legs were dead! So I stayed back a little on my own all the way up. Then she made a wrong turn so I got the chance to run up with her a little bit and then we turned around and we were going sooooo fast! Sometimes it scares me when we start going that fast ha and I hope it doesn't kill us for AT tommorow... But it was fun so thats good! :)

 When I got home today I randomly decided to go get racing flats so I went and got some! I am really excited to race in them now!! :)

PM: Dogpound AT. At the beginning it was sort of sore. Like when your going fast and you want to go faster but you have like no control over your sore legs if you go faster your legs might start slipping out from under you. But after we turned onto the dog pound road it felt a lot better. I really focused on making the end of the AT way fast and strong. I also made sure after I slowed back down to a cool down pace that I stayed strong. At the fence coach didn't say to do a fast finish that I know of but I have really been trying to focus on the finishes after Snow Canyon so I sprinted from the fence in. It felt good.

 

Sleeping in has been really nice. But its so weird only logging in 4 miles for a day. I am actually starting to get a little mile hungry! But I am pumped for region!

Ahhh my hands are frozen so its hard to type.. Just went a little over six today kind of late again. It was dark by the time i finished... Its weird but i think i have grown to really like running in the heat.. I guess thats just what i'm use to.. READY FOR REGIONN!!

Ohhhh wow!! I can't believe its over! and WE ARE GOING TO STATE!!!!! I am so excited! :) I was so nervous yesterday I couldn't even handle it! I had a tough race too! My legs weren't as fresh and my thighs burned but I did my best! I am soooo excited for state though!! And to be able to start winter training and get better and I CAN'T WAIT for senior year when I am getting even faster! Its going to be sooo awesome! :) Congratulations to the boys team and Ashley Judd!! :) you guys rock!

 

 I can't believe its really over! Reading Sierra's blog just made me realize that not only do I love running I LOVE CROSS COUNTRY! I don't want the season to be over. No matter how hard it is I enjoy coming out every day and doing those hard workouts and pushing myself to the limit and not only that but doing it with some of my best friends. I have made some of my best friends through cross country this year! We were out there every morning and every day after school pushing and getting better as a team! I hope all of you do cross country again next year! Because it is totally true, Together we are what we can't be together. And thats exactly what happened this year. Together we became a TEAM and even after all the bumps in the road we reached out goal TOGETHER! You guys ROCK! good job this year guys! :)

Just a six for today! Except I was completely stuck in coral canyon cause it was 9:30 at night! ha but it was a nice run..... My legs lately have been cramping up no matter what I do so tonight I really focused on when ever my legs cramped up I would stay opened up cause a lot of times I find myself tucking in and picking up my knees to high and shortening my stride... So I focused on staying straight and keeping my stride normal. I also worked on a fast finish and started my finish earlier than I normally do.. It felt good! J

Talked to coach today after the run and he said it is going to be much harder to be on varsity next year!!! That scared me big time but I know by putting these miles in all winter and working hard in track and summer training that I can stay on there! (crossed fingers)

WAYYYY FUNNN!!! I think I'm finally back! :) Went out to Green Springs and right when I got to the hill I just starting flying and I kept that up the rest the way up and then back down! It was funn! :)

what an adventure!!!!! Seriously. But it was soo fun :) Me and Sierra went out from her house down to nissons and Jumped on this trail that we have ran passed all season but never knew what was on it so we decided to find out. And find out we did. It was about a minute trail in each direction and that was it. Sorta LAMEE. From Nissons we went up to dog pound road and down and then turned at the bottom towards washington fields. We went down there and decided to jump onto the path alongside the river. It was fun but it ended soon to so we turned off into a neighborhood. We ran through that and came out on the other end and started heading down farther into washington fields past the 2 church buildings and into a neighborhood. I had stomache issues the whole time and it started getting way bad! Ha it was kind of funny but we stopped at a random ladies house and used her bathroom. Then we kept going all the way down to the end of Sandia I think it was called and stopped at the church right there which made 8.1. Ha it was such and adventure but so fun and legs didnt hurt at all. I am excited for big miles next week!!! :)

Probably a little more than six... It hurt soooo good! Sometimes I have those sort of runs where it all hurts but its like a good kind of hurt that motivates you to keep going cause you can feel yourself getting stronger!! We went TOO fast though, I was just trying to keep pace with Micci, but she doesn't have THE BEAST work out tomorrow so she was FLYING and at the end I finally just let go. MICCI is a maniac! ha but it was a good run! :)

I don't know how I feel about the workout today yet. I was pushing myself SOOOO hard but my legs were shot.. I was disappointed cause I couldn't stick with Sierra during the second set.. Kind of discouraging. Just one of those days I guess.

Dead legs.... STILL. Gooodness! I was dead all the way up except for the hill of course thats my strongest point... but then on the way back coming out of greensprings ethan caught me and asked me to run with him.. Ha he probably slowed down tons but I kept up. It hurt but he definately saved me that last half..... we were going fast. When we got back we raced in and then I realized i still had striders.. Ha but striders felt strong.. I hope I get my legs back soon!

Much better! Not completely... The way out there sucked pretty bad but on the way back things started to work again and it was a nice run.. I was so tempted to run 3 with the other girls today since we aren't going to nike any more but I did the 5 and I'm so happy I did!!!!! I am so disappointed that were not going though. That isn't fair for them to do that. Especially to our boys team who deserves to be down there and show what they can do!

A little more than 8. It was a good run... It wasn't a super fast pace but I just went out to enjoy the run... It was good to just relax and run for a fun run.

When I woke up this morning I didn't even know if I wanted to run today. for one I still don't know if were going to nike.. two I didn't fell good. And three I knew I was going to have to run it on my own cause I didn't have a way to get out to run with sierra! :( so when I headed out the door for my run I said... Maybe four.. Then I told myself to not be lazy and at the least do the five loop. THEN i yelled at myself some more and said if today is a long run day you should atleast go 7 and then I decided to run up and back down the back of that big telegraph hill to add a mile onto it making it like 8.1...

5 Out onto the trail.. I am so frustrated my achiles hurts way bad. I went and talked to mark and he said it looks like I just pulled something. He did some fancy dancy tape job thats suppose to last a couple days so we'll see how it works.. Arghh!!! Sorry sierra for slowing you down!!!

3 AGAIN. I am so ready for distance again... Rachel said a couple days ago to the rest the freshman that the days you don't feel like running always turn out to be the best runs.. Well today was testimony to that. I really didn't want to run.. It was just me and Rachel.. No one else was there.. And I could only go 3 in the first place so I was like darn whats the point... But I went out with Rachel and I forgot how much I love running with her.. It was the best run I've had this winter training... Maybe thats just cause I almost have a handle on my breathing again and my legs didn't hurt.. It was way fast and felt good!! I hope I can run with her AND sierra a lot more this winter.. I'm up north in scofield right now so I drove down with my aunt to price cause she was running some errands and I thought maybe it would be a tiny bit warmer down the mountain. . So she dropped me off and I found the signal on the watch and took off but the watch was confusing so I didnt get my exact miles but it was probably actually closer to 7. But it was way fun.. So i was wrong about it being warmer down in price.. about a mile into it it started to sprinkle and then It started to snow and then the snow came like crazy! I ran past a sign that said it was like 44 degrees outside and then I ran past again and it was 34 ha it was soo cold and soo fun! I had to go all over the place cause that town was so small I probably saw pretty much the entire town twice! ha And I bet everyone and their dog saw me running!! Good average pace the whole way through!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Mountain run today.. Big down hill... Then some flat and slight up hill... then HUGE up hill all the way back. I think I'm getting sick or something cause I had nothing left at the end of that run and I felt sick and dizzy and a throbbing head ache. Ha the sad thing is I only feel good WHILE i'm running but when I'm done its miserable!! good run though.. and a pretty good pace even with the massive hills!

Ha today I realized I'm a wierdoo... The family went bowling so I went with and bowled a game and then took off FROM the bowling alley and went running.. hahaha anything to get my fix right... ha it was way fun and way fast!!! :) and i didnt feel as sick after which was nice!

hmm.. So i seem to be the only one in my family able to keep my little sister under control so I spent a lot of the afternoon when it was perfect to go running holding my sister.. So when i actually got out there it was getting dark and it was way cold like 34... so It sucked and I started getting sick and dizzy so I had to cut it way short... :( I'm ready to go HOME!!

Ha I actually went the 4 mile run and then came back to find my car was missing so I had to run around the school a couple times looking for my dang car!! ha It was a good run though.. Some side cramps got to me.. Thats all

after going up north I just havent really felt like big distance.. It will come back though.. But I've told myself that if I feel like going easy I'm going easy cause its winter training! So today I just ran around the DI but then went out to artic circle and down to the restarant and hung out there.. ha

Just an easy three to artic circle and back.. The first mile was with hailey.. She is so good even out of shape.. I admire people like that! ha but I take what I can get! :) It was a way fast AND fun run! :)

Omg.... This was soooo fun!! Willy and Tason took me, Micci, and Ryan out to this tunnel run out under the free way.. It was this pitch black tunnel and it had water going down it so you had to hold on to the walls to make it through!! It was soo funn!! and the run felt way good too so all around a blast! I love winter training!! :)
