Even though I love road races, my true running love is a competitive mile on the track.

I would love to try one or two this year in a real track meet against people who are running around my level (maybe sub 5:00-5:30 pace). I live in Sandy, UT. Does anyone know of any such track meets in UT that are open to unattached runners?

Thanks,
-Steve

There are usually a few track meets to be found if you look hard enough. Also, if you really like the mile you should be able to find a mile long road race for adults. Of course I don't live in Utah currently so I don't know of any specific examples, but I'm sure they are out there.

Perhaps the Utah State Games has an open mile on a track?

Thanks, I think I looked into the Summer Games, and only like 2-3 people ran each race (I believe). But that might be my best option. I can make it 3-4.  Grin

Recruit a few more runners and you'll have a good field, especially if you recruit runners who are just a little slower than you are. I, sadly, am not a candidate because I'm not just a little slower than you are. I'm a lot slower than you are.
