Now guys, we are talking free weights not some machine with pullies or elastics right?  I have a hard time seeing 120-130 pound distance runners put up some of these amounts that have been stated!

I know this might sound heavier than anyone else can lift (wink, wink) but I can lift the stellar amount of 80 pounds

I might be able to get the bar off - maybe on a good day!  General rule of thumb is to be able to bench your body weight- unfortunately that number seems to be getting bigger!

Did a set of 5 reps with 225lbs this past week.  I'm recording this now because my strength is slowly diminishing as I really begin to develop a running routine.  I've lost 23lbs. since thanksgiving (not to brag or anything, yet I realize most of you folks wouldn't have 23 lbs to lose).  My hope is that within the next year I will have things to brag about in the area of running and I'll be fine with my bench press accomplishments being a thing of the past (not that I've ever set any records).

I tried bench press once, was forced to do it for my high school xc team. I did 85 lbs once. Never again. I felt like a moron. Weight lifting is not for me. Ask me to do a leg press on the other hand, I'll smash the competition like Hulk.
