I bought 23 pounds of cukes this morning.  Anyone have a favorite pickle recipe?  I have two versions of bread and butter pickles that I am going to make but that leaves roughly 11 pounds of cucumbers for a few more batches.

My mom would have a good one. I'll give her a call and post.

Thanks Sasha.  I have looked at a lot of recipes.  I think the only thing they have in common are cucumbers and vinegar.  I'll bring you a jar at St. George.

Here it is:

Salt - 2 table spoons per 1 liter of water
Garlic - two-three cloves per liter of water or by taste
Horseradish - half a leaf, or a piece of root, makes the pickles more brittle
Dill - stems, cut them in pieces
Peppers
Cucumbers to fill the can
To speed things up, pour in a boiling solution of salt
Let it sit for 24-36 hours depending on the outside temperature, the warmer the
less time you need.
Pour out the juice, boil it, pour it back in, pour it out, boil it again,
pour it back it, then seal the can.

Thanks Sasha and thank your mother for me.  I'll be brining again tomorrow.  Today is bread day if the kids want sandwiches tomorrow.  A kept man's work is never done!
