Hey all I am considering having surgery to remove several bone spurs on the back of both of my heels.  Problem is the growth(s) are right where the Achilles Tendon attaches to the heel and often the Achilles needs to be detached in order to get at the bone spurs.  This can make for a nasty recovery.  Has anyone had this surgery and if so - what was the recovery time like?

Here's some more in depth info from wikipedia:   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haglund%27s_deformity

lots of reads but no replies - guessing it isn't too common.  I scheduled the surgery and will be out of commission 4-5 months.

check this out - this is the surgery I will be having.

Yeah, sorry, no experience in this area.  I guess most of us don't reply if we don't know anything about it (unlike most forums on the internet these days, where lack of knowledge results in more posts!)
