Ok, as you can see below, I posted about pain on the outside of my knee recently. With much help from everyone here, I've diagnosed myself with IT Band Syndrome.
I ended up running the Half Marathon in August, and it killed, especially after the run. Since then I basically stoppend running for about five weeks. This morning, I tried running even a couple miles, and the pain has NOT gone away. Like I said, I've tried resting it for over a month now, which obviously hasn't worked. I also worked on it for a couple weeks with the roller, which obviously hasn't done much.
I'm at the end of my rope! I really want to get back to running, but with the pain, I don't think I will be able to. I need to treat this right.
Has anyone here dealt with IT Band Syndrome? What should I do? As of right now, I am seriously considering going to a physical therapist unless someone on here can give me some ideas that for sure will work.
BTW, I still consider myself overweight. I am 5' 10" and weighed 205 when I ran the half a couple months ago. Right now I weigh about 210, and am trying to put off about 10-15 pounds AT LEAST while not running.
Any help is appreciated!
