Hi All,

I will be in Utah for a few weeks this summer!  I plan on running Des News 10k, then want to run a 5k or 10k on August 3rd.  Anyone have a suggestion for one?  The best I can find is Wasatch Wellness 5k/10k in Provo, but I am wondering if there are other options.

Thanks!

Michelle

Hey Michelle - I assume you mean August 4th (Saturday)... there is a new circuit race that day... the Midvale Rotary 5K. It looks like a flat, fast course. I would bet money (if it were legal here  Wink ) that you'll see a lot of bloggers there.

I do mean August 4th.  Thanks Jake.   Flat and fast sounds perfect.  Of course I will be sucking wind a bit without the altitude training.  Do you know your race plans yet--will you and Andrea be there?  I would love to have in the race, I would try to ride her coattails and get a good time  Smiley

I'm sure we'll be there Michelle. Its one of the few circuit races that doesn't coincide w/ summer vacations. Plus its close to home which is always a plus. You can always draft off me if you're feeling really spry - coming back up to altitude from sea level  Wink

Jake--this 5k looks like it is Aug 11th?  Am I mistaken?

You are not mistaken... its the following weekend. The USATF circuit schedule has a lot of dates wrong - they are still a week off on the TOU 1/2. Although this 5K doesn't even appear to be on the circuit anymore.

Impressive list. But what about the Alta Peruvian 8k. It's hard to beat a 2000 foot drop over 8k.

Not that you'd want to beat it.
