The University I work for, University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is having a crowd sourcing program to STOP obesity.

The entry had to be 200 words or less. My entry is GOAL: Get Out ALabama.
If you could go to the following website
https://crowdsource.dopm.uab.edu/PublicPages/PublicScoreChallenge.aspx?ID=1

Unfortunately the order of entries resets each time.

So click on the different pages until you find GOAL.

Feel free to forward to others who might feel this is a worthwhile cause.

Here are my 200 words.

As a UAB sponsored activity our state can have G.O.AL a public relations campaign, GOAL is to have people set small goals to have daily activity. GOAL is to Get Out of the house or Get Off of the couch. GOAL is focused on consistency over volume or intensity. Participation will be followed through schools, churches, public groups, and social media for accountability and sharing ideas. It will start as daily goals of walking around the block, playing catch, or walking a dog. Incentives should include a shirt after 30 consecutive days, and some type of gift certificate after 3 consecutive months. A highlight is that people should not worry about having to go run or to a gym that they can get a health benefit from simply walking to get a drink of water every 30 min – 1 hour throughout their days to increase healthy lifestyles. The primary target audience will be grade school level children with many of the suggested activities including parents, siblings, and family members. After the initial behavior is set longer term GOALs can be set to move into the intensity but rewards should focus on getting people moving first. Come on, what's your GOAL?

All the best, Adam RW

I check this forum every week or so to see if there are any new posts.  Man, it's been a long time since this feature was barely utilized.

My husband knows how.
Some of his questions are:
Is the site developed in raw php?  If not, are you using any sort of web application framework for it? An example of the type of framework I'm referring to would be cakephp or laravel.
Are you using anything for version control? (e.g. github, svn)

He can help and he knows php, css, and html
His email is jspenc72@gmail.com if you would like to get in touch

Thank you

Thanks, Kam. Was not aware this was a new course. I'd seen the pace bands but ya never know about those things... I've arrived in SLC now and about to go looking for something to eat (staying at West 600 South and Temple).
