Title: Running after meniscectomy (trim of meniscus tear)
Post by: Virginia Fife on January 15, 2014, 02:56:10 pm
The tear in my meniscus was likely precipitated by too many unsuccessful wake boarding attempts.

I underwent arthroscopic meniscectomy in October 2013.

I haven't returned to running yet, but really want to.

The surgeon said I'd need to go to physical therapy before returning to running.

I was disappointed at my first PT appt. The therapist wouldn't tell me when I could start running again. I'm looking for a new therapist.

Have you had a meniscectomy? What was your rehabilitation and return to running like? Do you still run marathons if you did before?

I'd love to hear what others have experienced with this. Thank you so much! :)
