Title: GLOVES!
Post by: Stacy O on January 03, 2012, 04:04:43 pm
Does anyone have any suggestions for good gloves?  I can't seem to find a pair that keeps my hands warm when it is sub-20 degrees.

I currently am using Under Armour Extreme Coldgear Gloves - http://www.underarmour.com/shop/us/en/pid1212733 with some cheapy cotton gloves underneath.  Didn't keep me warm in 17 degrees. :(

All suggestions welcome!
Thanks!

I find that mittens work better than gloves.  On really cold days I just use "snowboard" gloves that have place for thumbs, but not for fingers (my def. of mittens is "fingerless gloves").  The underarmor/nike/running gloves are only something I use for temperatures above 30.

Mittens are where it is at (my hand get cold way easy).  Saucony has a great pair of mittens for $24 on runningwarehouse.com (retail for $35).  Throw in some hand warmers to make them extra toasty.

On real cold days in Logan (i.e. below 10 deg), I would wear snowboarding mittens.  Very warm.

I struggle with cold hands as well... mittens are definitely the way to go. When its under 20 degrees, I use a combo of medium weight wool gloves, and then a gore-tex shell mitten over the top. SUPER WARM AND TOASTY!!!

I concur (as I have very cold hands too)...snowboarding mittens under 20 degrees.

Any old lightweight gloves and one of these in each hand. Get 'em cheap by the box at costco.

Thanks for all the suggestions.  17 degrees this morning and I went with cheap cotton gloves under heavy duty mittens and my hands stayed warm!  Thanks for the help! :)
