Title: Sign up soon for Striders Winter Racing Circuit!
Post by: Jon Allen on December 03, 2008, 07:59:54 pm
I just wanted to let everyone know that early registration for the Striders Winter Racing Circuit is happening now thru Dec 31.  The races are in Ogden and are a great way to prepare for a spring/summer marathon.  The series consists of a 5k, 10k, 10 mile, 1/2 marathon, and 30k race.  The first 3 are very hilly but lots of fun, and Striders does a good job putting on the races.  The price goes up in January, so register now!

See http://www.stridersrunning.com/ for more info. Or you can ask me or any of the bloggers who did it last year if you have specific questions.

Are there cash prizes for the winners of the circuit?  What are they?  How many races are there?

5 races- 5k, 10k, 10 mile, 1/2 marathon, 30k.  Cash prizes for top 3 in the series, with top place getting ~$100, I think.  Plus the 1/2 is on the USATF LDR circuit, so it has money, too.

Is anyone from Salt Lake Area doing this race. I was thinking I could just take frontrunner there, but it looks like it doesn't go early enough! So is there anyone out there crazy enough to drive up from SLC early for a hilly 10K and can drive me? Alternatively, I may be able to borrow a car and then could give a ride to a couple of people.
