Title: St. George Marathon lodging Post by: Shauna on May 18, 2008, 08:49:10 pm Hi everyone,
My husband and I will be visiting St. George for the first time to run the marathon. I have looked on hotels.com, and the only hotels posted were the Coronado Inn at $175 a night and Days Inn. There were several others posted in Hurricane that were cheaper. Would Hurricane be a convenient place to stay. We are willing to pay a bit more for convenience. Can anyone recommend a clean, comfortable, convenient place to stay that is not outrageously priced? I imagine that hotel rooms will fill up fast. Thanks, Shauna Title: Re: St. George Marathon lodging Post by: James Winzenz on May 19, 2008, 11:31:37 am MichelleL has mentioned that the Fairfield Inn still has availability at $175/night with a shuttle to the start (but you have to call a specific person, and may have to reserve for 2 nights). Also, a bit of info on the Coronado Inn and Suites - we have stayed there multiple times, they are not bad at all, and they are just about 5 blocks from the bus point. You can literally walk to the busing location from there. If you call them up, the rate is actually $149/night for a king suite, and $129/night for 2 nights. The checkout time is a bit harsh - 10:00, and they weren't especially accomodating last year on late checkout, so we had to rush back and check out quickly.

Title: Re: St. George Marathon lodging Post by: Jon Allen on May 19, 2008, 03:07:35 pm Yes, but 2 kids age 2 and under can keep anyone up at night, including a kind house host who is running the next day. I don't want that to happen.
Title: Re: St. George Marathon lodging Post by: James Winzenz on May 26, 2008, 12:18:21 pm Looks like we have found a place to stay with one of the locals - if anyone would like our Travelodge reservation, please let me know - otherwise I am going to cancel it. The rate was 104.99/night for a king bed, or something like that - maybe 109.99/night. We only had a 1 night reservation.
