Title: Boston Athlete Registration Question
Post by: Virginia on September 20, 2011, 11:49:32 pm
Wa-hoo, I qualified!  I just filled out the registration tonight, but I'm wondering about my "net time".

My "final time" for TOU is stated as: FINAL TIME: 03:43:59.5 (I needed 3:45 to qualify)

On the BAA registration, there is only a space for hour, minute, and seconds.  So I just dropped the .5 off.  Was I supposed to round up?  Hope not.  I just put 3:43:59 for my net time.  Did I do the right thing??

Thanks!!

I'm not sure you would ever see a runner round up :)

When it comes to time, 3:43 generally means anything sub-3:44, and 3:43:59 means anything 3:43:59.99999999 or under.  At least that is how I view it.  So you're just fine.  Anyways, they won't kick anyone out for something like that.  Technically, at least in previous years, they would accept you even if you had run 3:45:59 (i.e. they allowed 59 seconds over qual time).

Thanks Jon!  Now just to wait and see if that was fast enough.  I should know by Wednesday!
