Title: Is there a hopeful present for an injured runner?
Post by: Aaron Shakow on May 23, 2011, 11:35:21 pm
My girlfriend's BFF is on the shelf with an incredibly frustrating injury. Stress fracture in the left foot didn't heal properly (of course she ran on it), ultimately needed surgery to remove a fragment. As soon as it started improving she found she'd developed a stress fracture in the right foot.

We'd like to get her a nice present while she rehabs, something that she can look forward to using once she's back in her Mizunos. Either a relatively inexpensive toy or a book. Any ideas? Thanks.

A great novel about running is Once a Runner, by John Parker.  That's one idea, if she likes reading.

Is she a mom? If so, a light-hearted, but fun running book I've recently discovered is "Run Like a Mother" - I can't help but nod and laugh as I read it!
