The Associated Press Monday, May 10, 2010 | 9:56 a.m. A 25-year-old Henderson man has been sentenced to seven to 20 years in state prison for driving under the influence of alcohol when hitting and killing a relay race runner from Utah last October. Joshua Salayich wept and sought leniency from a Clark County District Court judge who also heard sobbing family members describe their pain at the death of 33-year-old Jeremy Kunz. Kunz was a married father of three from Kamas, Utah. He was taking part in a 180-mile Ragnar Relay run from Valley of Fire State Park to the Red Rock Resort when he was struck and killed in Henderson on Oct. 10. Salayich pleaded guilty in January as part of a plea deal that had prosecutors dropping a charge of leaving the scene of the crash. Authorities say his blood-alcohol level was .26.
