Title: Best place to get hot hands - I will suffer no more!
Post by: Michelle Lowry on December 02, 2009, 07:54:48 am
After years of icicle digits and near amputations I've decided I am going to stock up on hot hands and use them liberally if the temps drop to 20F or lower.  So does anyone have a suggestion of where to buy them in bulk?  They seem to be about a dollar a pop, but perhaps they are less expensive if bought in large quantities?

you could get re-usable cold/hot packs ... you can reuse them many times and you can get them at Walgreens.  Otherwise, I would check Campmor and see if they have them in bulk (and for cheap).

Case Of 240 Pair HeatMax HotHands 2® Hand Warmers
Code:1100-10R_CASE
Price:$146.15

** Have you thought of using a (heavier) but much, much cheaper reuseable "fuel stick" hand warmer?  I bought one for TransRockies at Sportsman's Warehouse, couldn't use it in the tent so took it back.. If I remember correctly, the fuel sticks work out to less than 10 cents per use... and you can cut them down to make many smaller, shorter duration sticks.

Or move to a more temperate climate... 60+ here today... ; )

You can get 40 pair for $24.18 at Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/HeatMax-Hot-Hands-Handwarmer-pairs/dp/B0007ZF4OA/ref=pd_sim_sg_5).  Same price per unit as the 240 at industrialsavings ($0.60/pair).

Costco. I think I paid $15 for a box of 40 pairs.

Yeah, Mike, I just went to Costco today and was so grateful to buy that box, it was $14 something for 40 pairs.  Not too bad.  I don't need bell peppers in bulk, but grateful to get these in bulk.  Now I am not dreading going out tomorrow morning.

I am going to have to pick some up.  My hands were miserable last night.
