Title: Permanent surgical toenail removal

I would be curious to know if anyone has gone a similar route. I'll admit to considering pinky toe amputation when the foot goes into spasm....

Wow. Years ago I kept getting an ingrown toenail on my large toe so the doctor removed half the nail and killed the root so on one big toe I have a narrow nail and i've never had an ingrown nail on that foot again. I don't think I could go with getting them all removed though. Then again I'm not running any 100 mile races.

I've thought about it. But so far it hasn't been worth the hassle. For now, I just live with really ugly, mangled toenails.
