Not just tainted, but perhaps cursed.

I didn't know that people in Milwaukee ran. ???  I did have a nice butter burger and some fries when I visited there last summer.

Brings to mind concerns at St. George last fall in the women's race and this year in the men's race.

Yeah, it did remind me of SGM women's race last year...which was actually a worse violation IMO.

The problem I have, and maybe this is the venue for this discussion, is how you draw the line. I'm one who never expects to be in the money at a marathon so I've always had "outside" help. For all my Chicago races I've had family/friends hand me stuff. For my St. Louis marathon I had friends who ran the half meet me to help me in the back miles. Was this unfair? By the rules yes! So what do I do, scratch all my previous performances? Since I'm usually just racing myself, trying for PRs and I've tried to normalize the assistance between all my races I would say it doesn't matter. I'm curious to hear how others feel about this.

I think people should do whatever they want, but be prepared to face the consequences if there are any. For front-runners, there are greater consequences than for mid-packers.

What happened at SGM men's race this year?

Walter commented that he saw the person in front of him being paced.
This is something I've had done for me before so I didn't highlight it.
When I was pacing Michelle the year before I feel that is different because I ran from the beginning.
It is this argument of having fresh pacers jumping in. Personally I struggle with this. I've done it but I can agree with the argument against it. Then again it is part of ultras and almost required...
