Title: Utah Marathon and Other Race Prize Money Post by: Ted Leblow on May 13, 2009, 10:04:43 pm I have seen a few posts mentioning Utah Marathon Race Prize Money so I thought I would start a thread that lists prize money in Utah. I will start with Marathon Prize Money and let others add other races with advertised or unadvertised prize money.
Marathons in order of biggest total prize purse: 1 - Des News Marathon and 10K - Total Prize Purse with Marathon and 10k = $14,800.00 (7K marathon & 7.8K for 10K) 1500/750/500 Men & Women top 3 500 1st Utah Men & Women 250 1st Master Men & Women (10K pays the same but goes 3 deep in top Utah runners) 2 - Salt Lake City Marathon - Total Prize Purse = $12,900 2500/1500/500/250/100 Men & Women 500/100/50 Masters Men & Women 500 Wheel Chair Men & Women 500 Hand Cart Men & Women 3 - Top of Utah Marathon - Total Prize Purse = $9,100 1500/1000/750/500/250 Men & Women 250 Master Men & Women 250 Wheel Chair Men & Women 50 Hand Cart Men & Women 4 - Ogden Marathon - Total Prize Purse = $4,850 1100/550/275 Men & Women 275/150/75 Master Men & Women 5 - Utah Valley Marathon - Total Prize Purse = $3,500 1000/500/250 Men & Women So there you have it. also, from what i can see, ogden does not mention any awards or prize purse on their website. was this from a previous year? Plus Suunto t4. Which died after about 5 months of use for me (even without a footpod). But at least I got some HR measurements out of it, so that was better than nothing.

Marathon Overall 1600/800/500/300/200 Men & Women Marathon Masters 300/150/75 Men & Women Half Marathon Overall 500/350/250/150/75 Men & Women Total payout of: $10,500 The Utah Valley Marathon will have the 2nd highest 1st place marathon purse in the state (if Ted is right about Des News)! We have also made a course change that should be on our website by early September, and we have added a half marathon. |
