Title: PR by 72:33
Post by: Jeff Necessary on December 08, 2008, 09:59:38 pm
Yes, I said 72 minutes, 33 seconds. As in how much I lowered my PR on 12/6/08 in Memphis (thanks to Sasha for convincing me that I could get this 48-year-old body to run fast). From 4:46:15 to 3:33:42, which is within three minutes of BQ at my age. Didn't quite have enough in the tank to carry that 8:00 pace to the finish and get the BQ, but I'm still darn pleased with the performance. See my blog for the RR.

However, my fashion sense seems to require some work, as this YouTube clip from Saturday morning before the race suggests. I'm bib #2120. Yes, those are medical scrub pants I'm wearing.  ::)

That is an awesome improvement - and yes, we can (I turn 47 in a few weeks) run fast still! Congrats!!

Great job on the awesome pr,  I don't think it matters what you wear on race morning to stay warm.  I know I have looked worse than you. ;)

A little late on the congratulations, but good to you! The pre-race outfit is great also! A friend of mine buys sweats at Salvation Army for use pre-race. That way he doesn't care if they get lost on the aid wagon.
