Title: New SLC Elite Program:
Post by: James Moore on April 02, 2012, 05:55:08 pm
I just thought people should be aware of this. It's a lot of money for Utah Residents ($3000!) also there are complimentary entries being given out like candy in the half marathon. Just know that you may never actually see the money :)

wow if they really pay up - this becomes the most lucrative race in the state, by far!

Boy, qualifying for the 1/2 marathon is a lot easier than for the marathon...

Haha Jon that was the first thing that caught my eye as well - had to do a double take on that one. You'd think they would at least cut the marathon time in half and subtract at least a minute!  :)

The Eugene marathon has the same standards, it's a bit baffling. Also the number of sub 1:30 UT women is enormous.

Clyde would have won some big money last year - $2500 if I am reading it right: 2nd overall, 1st west state, 1st utah.

With the past history of the race the question is always there if you will actually get paid, though. Our runners have been eventually paid, however, even though sometimes after a long delay. Maybe because they know that if you are local unpaid prize money makes it to the news quicker.
