Title: migrating rear end soreness
Post by: Aaron Shakow on April 15, 2008, 01:08:50 pm
So it started out at the hip, and now is right around my tailbone. I can only really feel it when I lean back in the tub. It's not too troublesome, I assume it's just inflammation, but I'm curious whether anybody else has had a similar experience. The migration started when I dilaled back from about 60 mpw to 25-30.

I get terrable SI joint pain, which is in the area that you describe.  I have found a good chiropractor that helps me stay out of pain.  Also keeping my back and abs strong helps alot.

You might want to look at some of the images on this site:  http://www.painclinic.org/musclepain-backhipbuttockleg.htm (http://www.painclinic.org/musclepain-backhipbuttockleg.htm)
They might be able to help you pinpoint the cause and provide some suggestions on what to do about it.  It *could* be the Piriformis muscle becoming too tight and needing stretched, which I dealt with very quickly and effectively with stretches to pinpoint it.  Then again, it might not be.  But I think some of the images might help you figure out exactly what muscle is giving you the problem.
