Title: Track and Field Trials
Post by: allie on July 02, 2008, 06:58:53 pm
So right now I am packing so that I can fly out to Eugene, OR and spend the 4th of July weekend watching the second half of the Olympic track and field trials, live and in person. I CAN'T WAIT. Watching athletes of this caliber run is surely going to be inspiring and motivating. The races I am most excited about are the men's and women's 1500M final, women's 5000M, and men's 10000M.
I'm off to TRACK TOWN USA. So long!

I'll see you there!  Or maybe not....20,000 people is a lot to pack into Hayward Field.  I'm making the drive Thursday morning to be in attendance on July 3rd and 4th.  The morning of July 4th I'm running the Butte to Butte 10k in Eugene--the largest 4th of July 10k in America.  Should be an awesome weekend!

When did Butte-Butte 10k become the largest?

I thought Peachtree held that title. 55,000 Registered runners, with who knows as many bandits. That thing was HUGE.

Adam--Good call on Peachtree being the largest.  Obviously the report I read was WAY wrong on that one.  The Butte to Butte doesn't even compare to what Atlanta's got going on every 4th of July!
