Title: Races that don't cost an Arm and Leg
Post by: Matthew Rowley on October 11, 2013, 07:59:22 am
As this years racing season is comming to an end I am starting to think about what race to run next year.  I am so tired of seeing high race fees.  I would like to find inexpensive races.  Anyone know of races that don't cost an arm and a leg to get into.  I would be interested in races from a 5K to Marathon.  The race doesn't have to payout money or give comp entries, I am not fast enough to qualify for them.  A shirt is not required.  I have plenty of running shirts.  Let me start off with one.  Perry July 4th 5K.  The last time I checked it was 5 dollars.  I run it when I can, depending on family plans for the 4th of july.

SLC Track Club Winter Series - 3 races (5K, 10K, 15K) for $40 ($30 if you are a member). Accurate, flat courses. Lots of people to run with. And they raffle off a ton of stuff afterwards. Both the 5K and 15K will be in the USATF-Utah Racing Circuit in 2014.

The Layton Classic is also a great deal. They offered an early registration code on Facebook this year... I think I paid ~$15. And that included plenty of perks as well.

I am always up for either pacing or racing somebody through my "uneventful" courses in Orem on a Saturday morning. Contact me through sasha.fastrunningblog.com if you are interested.

The Riverton Half at the end of March is only $30.  And I will vouch for the uneventfuls!
