i heard the reason for the change was because a new race director is taking over. can't remember his name...Rick Roll maybe???

Actually there is a rumor of them offering a million dollars to anyone who can break the world record on it. I guess it they would take out some insurance thing to do so. This isn't happening for sure but has really been talked about by the city organizers.
