I just checked today, and there are 984 people that are members of the Fast Running Blog. In a week or two, it will break 1,000. How far it's come since there were 28 of us!

Dude! I totally wanted to be the one that broke that news. You stole my thunder! That's all right. You have to be careful for repeat bloggers like the Argentine Rocket. She didn't like how hers was set up, so she started a new one. I wonder if anyone else is in the same boat.

Wow, 2 years ago when I joined there were only 70 people. Now, 1000!

Eric, just go to the "Blogs" page (show_blogs.php), and then select "10 years" in the "Updated Within" drop-down. Click "Search". It will give you a total count of blogs, and show all blog started within the last 10 years (or ever, since the site is less than 10 years old).

Wow, that's pretty easy. All this time I've been looking at the total number of females, males, and unknowns and adding them up. Although, I just did that, and I got 988. Doing it your way I get 987. The only logical explination is that someone traveled back in time over ten years and started a blog. At least, that's the only thing that makes any rational sense.

I figured out why the numbers come out to 987 and 988. There is one woman who never updated her blog, which probably means she set it up and never posted on it. So, when you place the setting at 10 years on the last updated screen she doesn't pop up, because there is no date and time for her in the last updated box. However, if you do a search with different parameters she will show up.

And how many are active members? Say blogging at least one a week? Is that info available?

So, what you're saying is time travel is not possible. Well, that blows my theory out of the water.
All right. Well, does the 1000th member get a prize? Are we going to celebrate? I feel like we need to do something. Like when the odometer reaches 100,000, you get out and take a picture. Let's all take pictures of where we are when it happens and post them here.

Eric- only 266 of the 987 bloggers have written in the past week, so not very good at all- about 25% active. 351 in the past month, 467 in the past 3 months.
You can find this info yourself- Just search on the "Blogs" page by any time frame.
Say, does this total include private blogs, as well? If not, I'm sure we are already well over 1000.

Well, that's it. 1000 blogs! Maybe not 1000 members, but 1000 blogs. Here's my picture of what I was doing when it happened....
