Alright, since this narcissistic board has been created, may as well put it to good use.

Bench Press PR's: what's the most you've benched at least one time?

For myself, I put up 205 lbs back in the summer of 1998. I weighed 135 lbs at the time.

Hey back in my day I put up 250 once. OK so that was 25 years ago. I might be good for 150 these days on a really good day.

I benched 95 once...and I got $2 for it! That was my sophomore year, so if I maxed out now I might be able to lift more... probably not, though, I'm pretty wimpy.

In 1993 I weighed under-125lbs and put up 205lbs. I haven't lifted since Kaitlyn was born though. My most recent was 185lbs weighing in at 155lbs in 2006.

Every few days I get to pick a drunk person up off the ground.  Does that count for anything ?

I'm sure there are drunk guys over 250lbs so I would say it counts for a lot!

I think my record is 150lb if I remember right. My mission companion was into weight lifting and one time I tried. Right now I probably would have a hard time with 110, but with some training I could get to 150.

Scott:

I think there is a Russian word you would be interested in learning:

вытрезвитель

Pronounced : Vy-tr'ez-v'i-t'el'

On the y pretend your stomach is really hurting, on the r', v', t' and l' you need to squeak like a mouse, that is the meaning of ' in transliteration. The r should be rolled like in Spanish.

It means "the sober-up clinic". Back when I was growing up they took drunks they found on the street in the Soviet Union into those clinics. This is what one of the those looks like:

Looks like bars are on the windows on the bottom level.  The place we take them also has bars on the windows....and doors.

But usually that is a last resort.  We try to find someone to pick take them home, or we will give them a ride if they are not too nasty (hygiene).
Arresting a drunk takes more time than it is worth most of the time.  Unless they are driving, and that is always worth the time.

A few years back before marathon training, I was benching about 225 lbs. max.   I have since lost about 20 lbs and lots of strength and I think my last bench workout I hit 175 lbs for a few reps and thought I was going to die!

You guys probably all run faster than me, yet I can boast of a 345lb bench...in college, weighed 190 (couldn't run more than 10 miles).

In my HS days I lifted twice a day every summer. I was benching 245 4 times (never actually maxed) right before cross country season started my senior year. I weighed close to 135 because of it (now 125)

Now- maybe 120 Smiley I actually have gym membership now though so it might go up a few pounds....nah.

When I took a break for running couple of years ago I could put up 205.  I can still put up 185 (last month) from only doing push ups.  I felt like a weakling when I was benching last month with my little brother because he put 365 and I had to get another guy help me spot him.  I'm am surprised that I can still bench anything because all I do is run and it just burns the muscle right off of your upper body.
