Just wanted to start a disucssion of what people are looking forward to accomplishing this year. My mine goal is to try and keep consistant mileage between 60-80 with a few recovery weeks and a few peak weeks. I want to get my legs used to this higher mileage so that I can hope to squeeze into the 90-100 for '09.

I think the #1 thing I am looking forward to this year is reading the Book of Mormon and studing it in church.  I have only read it once and didn't really understand it a whole lot.
As for running I want to PR in every distance and not just PR but blow my old pr's out of the water.
I am also excited to see everyone else on the blog do great things in running and get their goals as well.
HAPPY 2008!
Our life is what we make it:)

Always a good subject. I'd write something new, but I already wrote it in my personal blog, so I'll just paste the link instead:

From a running standpoint, I have a couple of goals:

1.  Break 18:00 in the 5K
2.  Break 38:00 in the 10K (not an all-time PR, but certainly post-HS life)
3.  Break 1:30 in the 1/2 marathon (should be very doable)
4.  Run a Boston Qualifier in the marathon
5.  Break 3:00 in the marathon
6.  Most importantly, stay injury-free!

I am excited to see how these goals pan out this coming year.

My goal for the year is to learn how to have a clean house with 3 little boys in it without cleaning all day.  There must be a way!

Here are my running goals for 2008:

Run at least 4 marathons, all under 2:40 and attempt to set a new PR (sub 2:30).
Run in at least 5 5K, 10K, 10 mile or half marathons races this year. (Goal: Finish a 10K in under 35 minutes; half in 1:15 or less).
Mileage target:  3200 miles

Yearly I put together a goals list and track back to it frequently throughout the year.  Running/fitness is actually near the bottom, but has been where I have had the greatest success in meeting or exceeding my goals.  So, I have to really focus on the higher up items, primarily improving my relationship and time with God, thus improving and maintaining a positive and Christ based relationship with my wife and kids (and all those around me).

Sorry to say there is no way!

Thanks to everyone for posting your goals. I enjoy reading them and gain inspiration for my own (which are currently on the drawing board....).

Resolutions: Dream goals:  1) Set a PR in the marathon; 2) beat Bill Rogers at the Boston Marathon to win; 3) have my legs look good enough to wear short shorts and; 4) wear the Fast Running blog singlet and actually look like and run like fast.  Doable goals:  1) Place in the top 8 in my division at the St. George Marathon; 2) break 1:27 at Hobblecreek; 3) Run 7 minute miles up city creek canyon and; 4) have more fun than fun in 2008 running.
