We now have one of the top paying  Utah marathons for 2010.  We will be paying the following:

Marathon Overall 1600/800/500/300/200 Men & Women

Marathon Masters 300/150/75 Men & Women

Half Marathon Overall 500/350/250/150/75 Men & Women

Total payout of: $10,500

The Utah Valley Marathon will have the 2nd highest 1st place marathon purse in the state.

We have also made a course change that will make the route arguably as fast as the St. George Marathon (or at least close).  We have also added a half marathon to the event.

Wow Hyrum, you have done a great job with this race.  The purse is just a small part of it.  Thank you for providing this event for our community!

We are just glad that so many people have come out and run with us.  We hope the growth continues, and always want to improve our race.  We appreciate all the comments we have received, and it has helped us to keep improving our race.  Our website is now current with new course maps and other improvements to the race.  Visit runuv.com

This next years course will be better too, I like the change.  You won't have the neighborhoods at the end.

I haven't done this race yet, but I am thinking it looks like a fun course this next year.  I'm definitely considering do it.

Dang, where was the master's money this year?  May have to go back hear or Ogden to try and snag the Master's titles.  Plus, it was a nicely managed race and the ending at the mall was a big plus with the family.

I've added a rough cut of the new course with the Course Tool. I think it's a much better course than last year although the rollers coming down the canyon on the hard concrete road isn't my favorite. But much nicer finish down Univ Ave the last 6 miles as compared to running from the lake back to the mall. I also won't miss all the trail down/up under the roads and zig-zaggy turns in the middle.

Jeff I think you and all the super-speedy masters guys should run Ogden, UVM is so far away and that master's money is way overrated Smiley

Sasha did something to our results page that I have never seen before on any other marathon website.  He made a page for each individual athlete in our marathon results that is individualized with their results, their home town, and even includes their photo.  I think that it is a really nice feature to the results, and we are very grateful to Sasha for his great idea, and his help in making it happen.  You can see the results page that has links to all the different athletes at: http://www.utahvalleymarathon.com/2009-results/Marathon+Overall.php

You can click on any one of the athlete to see what I am talking about.
