Politics and alcohol don't mix, a Provo man found out the hard way this weekend.

Police said the man and his brother had been drinking and discussing politics and presidential candidates at the brother's house, near 1100 S. 1000 East in Provo, when the discussion became heated, according to a police affidavit filed in 4th District Court.

The man, who is from Washington, got angry enough that he punched his brother in the face, according to the affidavit.

The men continued throwing punches and the brother's girlfriend tried to break it up, but she got thrown through a screen door with glass, receiving minor scrapes, according to the affidavit.

Responding medics said the brother needed a few stitches above his eye.

Police responded about 3 a.m. and arrested the man, who they said was the aggressor, according to the affidavit.

Maybe they should get Obama and McCain drunk before a debate.  They might actually say something interesting that isn't politically correct.  Plus I would like to see what kind of drunks they are- I'm guessing McCain would be an angry drunk and Obama would be a talkative drunk.  Grin

Actually, I think Obama would get violent and crass. McCain would just fall asleep.

This discussion has caused a Palin ad to show up at the bottom of the page right now. I wonder if I write Barack Obama, Barack Obama, Barack Obama a bunch of times one of his ads will show up.

Homer: America, take a good look at your beloved candidates. They're
nothing but hideous space reptiles.  [unmasks them]
        [audience gasps in terror]
Kodos: It's true, we are aliens. But what are you going to do about
it? It's a two-party system; you have to vote for one of us.
        [murmurs]
Man1: He's right, this is a two-party system.
Man2: Well, I believe I'll vote for a third-party candidate.
Kang: Go ahead, throw your vote away.
[Kang and Kodos laugh out loud]

Saw this clip today.  Doesn't really matter which candidate you are pulling for, its just fun to watch.  And a little nostalgic too.

Opie, Andie, Ritchie, and the Fonz are all in it.

I know this probably goes against the grain, but I feel like alcohol actually HELPS me discuss politics. I am pretty introverted in person, particularly around people that I do not know well. I think that enjoying a beer helps me relax, unwind and feel more at ease and more talkative. I'm not saying I get drunk or even buzzed. Just something about the social aspect of drinking I guess.  I agree with earlier posts about McCain falling asleep hehe

Trumpworld, also fake news, internet memes and liberal media.

I hardly believe what either the conservative or the liberal side says, you can listen to the news for 20 minutes and never hear one pertinent fact.
