I have set up Fastrunningblog.com teams for the Boston Marathon!  There are 4 options: 1) Open Men (under 40), 2) Open Women (under 40), 3) Master Women and 4) Master Men.

Each division can have 15 members per team (minimum 3 team members).  All runners must be in the same geographic region (Utah/Idaho) and be members of the FRB.

So far, I have 3 members on the womens' open team and 5 members on the Mens' Masters team (no men's open or women's master teams yet).

If you are interested in being on the team (no cost, no obligation, just another way to increase the fun at Boston), let me know by April 4 with the following infromation:

Name
Hometown
Bib number
division (or age)

I will add to the teams the first 15 people in each division I hear back from by that date.  For more information on the Team competition, see the Boston Marathon website.

Sounds cool. Too bad you couldn't use subnets or domains for the geographic region Smiley

The FRB Teams are up on the Boston Marathon website (though it says Idaho Falls,ID which is likely being changed as I write this to Provo, UT).

http://www.baa.org/races/boston-marathon/participant-information/team-entrants.aspx

Looks like they don't hold too tight to the concept of "same geographic region" too much...example of Chuck Engle from Coos Bay, OR is on a Maine team!  I wish I would have known that, could have added more runners to our teams!!!

Looking at the teams for the Master's competition, here are some of the top teams in my review:

Whirlaway Racing (Arlington, MA)
Somerville Road Racers (Medford, MA)
Fast Running Blog (Idaho Falls, ID/Provo, UT)
Bellin Health/Titletown Running (DePere, WI)
Southeast Runner's Club (Stow, OH)
Atlanta Track Club (Atlanta, GA)
Carolina Godiva Track Club (Hillsborough, NC)
Dick Pond Fast Track Racing Team (Palantine, IL)
Cumberland Valley Athletic Club (Hagerstown, MD)
Fleet Feet/Essex Racing (Montville, NJ)
Greater Boston Track Club (Winthrop, MA)
Sneaker Factory (Cedar Knolls, NJ)

Some tough old guy teams!  Lots of great runners with fast qualifying times...should be fun! We are going to have to run well to place.

Same geographic region could mean "North America".

Thanks Jeff.  By far, Whiraway is the team to beat.  Their qualifying times do not reflect what they are running this year, plus past performance easily shows how consistant they are on their home course.  Atlanta is the next contender.  I have run with some of their guys this year already, they have a good distance focus.  I met one of their members at the Leopards 5k and was telling me after the race that Boston is their goal race for the year, team wise.  That's my two cents.  To date, no western team has ever won Boston Masters Team division.
