Title: Virtual Pregnancy Half-Marathon standard
Post by: Sasha Pachev on December 31, 2012, 04:57:45 pm
Our blogger Rachel Moody ran the State Capitol Half-Marathon in 2:09:12 averaging 9:52 per mile on a very hilly course about 21 days and 18 hours prior to delivering a full-term healthy baby boy that weighed 7 lbs 1 oz.

This establishes a virtual pregnancy standard for men that cannot do it. Men that cannot run 2:09 half or a shorter distance at that pace - be aware that you are virtually 9 months pregnant! Start training.

In fact, we must also mention Rachel's Ogden half in 1:58:06 16 days earlier, so 37 days and about 18 hours away from delivery, which establishes a tougher standard for unfit men to be considered virtually pregnant without reducing very much how far along they are.

Matthew 24:19

"And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!"

...except Rachel, she'll flee on foot just fine.
